Introduction to Portfolio

For the final project of my class on web writing at the University of Georgia, we must create an online portfolio, which collects various pieces of work we have created for class over the semester. The goal of this portfolio is to show what you have learned, and to write an essay discussing those lessons and how they have helped you develop personally and/or professionally. Through this class, I've gained many technical and rhetorical skills, but most of my projects, Tweets and blog posts have focused on social media in some form, from the sites themselves to studying the people who are involved in these sites. My portfolio, therefore, focuses on my work in social media, including lessons on audience, authority and the uses of social media.

For the portfolio, I will be using two major projects. One is a multimedia project I created called Shark Dogs are People Too, which studied social media as a tool for social movements.  The other is the class project in which we studied the UGA Writing Center website, where I was in charge of outside links and social media planning. Both of these projects added to my collective social media knowledge in some way, and pieces of each project have been reproduced on the following pages.
